Hollywood Comes to Big Spring ..
During the summer of 1969, the streets of Big Spring, Texas were  marred by the presence of cameras from Hollywood, California.

Location shooting had begun for the movie "Midnight Cowboy". - the story of a young man from Big Spring, Texas who thought he could make his fortune on the streets of New York City.

For a brief period of time, Big Spring was featured as the background of the opening title sequence of the Academy award winning motion picture.  I'm sure many of the Class of 1971 don't mention the movie because it was originally released by United Artist as an "X" rated move.

I recently rented the DVD of Midnight Cowboy and decided to capture some of the images featured during the title sequence of the Oscar winning feature film.

I recall being disappointed that my first car, a 1963 Ford Falcon was edited out of the final version.

Overall, the images below provide a clear picture of how our hometown looked like during our high school years ...
