Rock 'n Roll music was very much a part of our lives in 1971. Perhaps more so than for young people today because it was all so new.
The Class of 1971 listened to their music in glorious "mono" while cruising on weekends. We also listened to our music on hand-held transistor radios from Japan and on phonographs.
There were no music videos available to the Class of 1971 so we each had our own interpretation of a song's meaning.
Singles were released on 45 RPM records that sold for less than a buck.
