When the Class of 1971 hit the highway in the spring of that year, we embarked on an adventure known as "the senior trip".
Since hearing from many of my classmates over the past year or so, the "senior trip" is invariably the most vivid memory they have from our final year in high school.
I recorded images from the trip using my parents' 8mm camera. I seem to recall several of my classmates taking snapshots at various times along the way. I've always hoped that some of those photos would make their way to this web site.
And now, thanks to Jackie Condron, some of them have.
Included on this page are several pictures sent to me by Jackie. They are amazing glimpses at a time gone by. I'm proud to share them with you.

According to Jackie, the picture above was taken at the motel our class stayed in either Houston or Galveston. Pictured are Jackie Condron, Karen Stovall, and Connie Dunagun.
"I remember we had walked to this Mexican Restaurant," recalls Jackie, "and this little Mexican boy did all he could for attention."
"He would sing and act silly" she said. "And of course we kept at him to do more. I don't remember his name."
Pictured from left to right are: Lori Hampton, Ricky Klahr, Janice Clanton, Karen Stovall, Jann Stevens (sponsor), Will Morgan, and Everett Bedell.
The Class of 1971 stopped in Houston to visit Astro World along the way to our final destination in Galveston.
The picture above was snapped at the motel we stopped at in Houston. Pictured from left to right are: Judy Maxwell and Karen Stovall.
It looks like Cheryl Roane doesn't know what to think of Everett Bedell as he gets back on the bus during our Senior Trip.
This could be a photo of Jackie Condron and Connie Dunagan at one of the motels we stopped at along the way. However, I don't remember seing a kitchen in any of the rooms I stayed in.
