Football 1971
|
The Forsan Buffaloes ended their 1970-71 season with a 2-6-1 record. With a turn of fortune in one or two games that could have gone either way, the Buffs would have produced a much more successful season.
Under the command of head coach Don Stevens and assistant coach George White, the injury plagued Buffs put forth a strong team effort.
The season involved much hard work, many injuries, a tremendous amount of shuffling positions, and a team spirit of wanting to win.
In spite of our record, the coaches of our district recognized the outstanding ability and desire of our team when they chose players for all-district honors. Selected on the all-district team were
- Jacky Willis, defensive linebacker
- Philip Medlin, defensive end and offensive guard
- Jeff Williams, defensive halfback
- Ricky Klahr, defensive tackle
Will Morgan, and Tommy Brumley received honorable mention all-district.
