The Class of 1971 had its humble beginnings during the 1959-60 school year at a small West Texas school named Elbow. Elbow was technically it's own school system at the time, but would merge into the Forsan school district within the year.

The original members of the Class of 1971 were split into two classes during our first grade together. Half of us were taught by Helen Danford and the other half by Mary Pratt.
